Telemarketer.

This caller left a harassing message on my home phone number and said I had 24 hours to contact them back, that they would be serving me with papers between 9 - 2 today. They have obtained my sister's cell number who is an amputee and in a nursing home and have continued to harassed her with numerous phones calls and threats. I do not know how they obtained her cell phone number or my home phone number. When I called them back I got a man who advised this was a matter from 1994 and the papers would be served and I had better be home to receive them. I attempted to let them know I was returning their call and he begin screaming and claiming I called him. I have never heard of these people and would like to know my legal options in this situation. I RECEIVED A CALL FROM MS TURNER, SHE WAS VERY POLITE AND PROFFESSIONAL FROM THIS COMPANY CTI. IN CONTRAST TO THE LIST OF COMPLAINTS FROM THE OTHER PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM, SHE WAS VERY HELPFUL AND HELPED ME PAY MY DEBT OFF FOR MY SEARS CARD. MAYBE U GUYS JUST GOT A BUNCH OF LOSERS CALLING U AND I LUCKED UP AND RAN ACROSS A REALLY PROFESSIONAL AND ARTICULATE YOUNG LADY.

calls have been only in the evening and about 20 minutes apart. These calls are coming on my Majic Jack phone system. A number I have never given out to any company that could have sold it. Last night the calls came until 9pm.

KEEP GETTING THESE CALLS 2-4 TIMES A DAY UP UNTILL AFTER 09:00 P:M. THE PHONE NUMBER THEY KEEP DIALING IS ON THE "DO NOT CALL LIST". THEY NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE. JUST HANG UP ONCE IT GOES TO THE ANSWERING MACHINE.

They called me too and called my job and I almost lost my job behind these ppl. Something really needs to be done.

These people are Scam artists. They will say they are attorneys with Brown Andrews and Scott, saying you owe them money and if you don't pay you will go to jail. Do as I did and please call federal trade commission and also your local attorney general state consumer. Don't pay them any money!!!! I called the bar association of New York and they aren't attorneys. They aren't even a collection agency. As I understand they are over seas and getting people like us to pay them for debts we think we owe. They will contact your family, you and your job. Know that these people can't do anything other then to harass you but please put a fraud alert on your credit.

I've been getting a call on my cell phone from this phone number pretty much on a daily basis - as I don't recognize the number, I don't answer... they never leave a message, so today after they called, I decided to try the number to see what company it was... It rang and then a man's voice recording came on and says "this number is not in service, please try again... GOODBYE" - it's not the normal recording you get when you get an out of service number (usually a woman's voice), so whatever company this is, they don't want anyone knowing where they're calling from and using this line as an out.
